One of the best ways to teach civics is to stand where it actually happens.

On February 13th, we are planning a homeschool group visit to the Arizona State Capitol for an afternoon of hands-on learning, real-world government exposure, and Arizona history. This experience is ideal for elementary through high-school homeschoolers and works especially well for roadschooling families traveling through Arizona.

During our visit, students will:

• Tour the Arizona House of Representatives
• Tour the Arizona Senate
• Visit the Arizona State Treasurer’s Office
• Learn how a bill becomes a law
• Explore the Arizona State Capitol Museum
• Study Arizona history and the three branches of government
• Potentially meet with a legislator or statewide elected official who supports school choice (availability permitting)

This trip is designed to complement homeschool studies in civics, U.S. government, Arizona history, and constitutional principles—all in an engaging, real-world setting.
